quitting my job due to shift change.

I have been employed with the same company for 15 years. I recently had my shift changed from day shift to graveyard shift. I am unable to work this shift due to the fact that I have 2 small children and am unable to fullfill my responsibilities such as getting them to school and so on…

A few questions. Why did they change your shift after 15 years? How much notice did the employer give you. Did you make any attempts to find alternative childcare? Any discussions with the employer at all about why this wasn’t going to work out?
