Unemployment elegibility if you quit for family related reasons- California

by John Z

(irvine,ca)

Due to my family conditions, I cannot work more then 30 hours a week. If my employer cannot accommodate my request to work less than 40 hours and I decide to quit, would I be eligible for unemployment benefits?

Hi John,

I don’t know. It would depend on the family conditions.

Here’s a link that will provide some insight. I think section VQ155 is what you’re looking for.
