Unemployment extension in California

by Jinny

(San Diego)

My unemployment claim initially started 2/6/09; however, I didn’t start collecting until 8/23/09. By the time my claim expired i still had $1350.00 left. My question is if I file a new claim do I just recieve the $1350.00 or is it another amount? Also, am I eligible for an extension? Thank you!

Hi Jinny,

To answer you .. all I can say is if you are eligible for an extension the state should file automatically for you, but whether you will be entitled for the remaining benefits or go straight to extension benefits .. I don’t know.

Maybe some kind soul could help and answer this part of your question .. I will be very grateful.
