What does “MODIFIED, FAVORABLE TO APPELLA mean?

by chris

(florida)

Completed appeal with Deputy..this statement was listed as the Referee’s decision result.

Modified usually means they have corrected the section of law used in the determination.

Favorable to appellant .. Well, whoever appealed must be the happy party.

What a relief .. eh?

by: Chris

You know what, with all I do know about unemployment .. by the time I finally had my own hearing and it was over, I thought all would go well for me.

But, my heart was beating fast as I ripped into the envelope anyway ..

The flood of relief I felt, when in my case, I saw the the initial decision was ‘modified’, but still affirmed nearly sent me into a primal victory dance ..

Who am I kidding, it did .. I hopped about like I was 16 again:))

Congrats!

Chris

Meaning of favorable to appella

by: Anonymous

It means that the person who filed the appeal against the employer wins right,

Actually, yes. That’s what it means. But usually, when a decision uses the word modified it means the section of law and the reasoning for the favorable decision was altered as well.

Where is the money then

by: Anonymous

I had the same thing Modified Favorable to Appellant, but I still have not received any money at all from them .

Hi,

Were you the appellant?
How long ago?
Have you asked the UI dept. where your money might be?

Appellant

by: Anonymous

yes I was the appellant and I was told i had to appeal it again so it went to the RAAC on 4/15/13 my case was opened on 2/3/13

RAAC I almost forgot .. Florida changed the name of the unemployment department .. again.

For those not aware you now need to search for the Reemployment Assistance Program .. or
Reemployment Assistance Appeals Commission.

Let’s rebrand ourselves right in the middle of people not being able to get through to us on the phone ..

Sorry for the mental break, but the idea was so stupid, it could of only been contrived to add to the unemployed’s confusion.

Listen, without being able to see at last the last decision or knowing why you appealed, or if it was for an issue that involved the employer or would be deemed “claimant only” .. it’s hard for me to say what it means to you.

You’re free to contact me via email however, and let me know it’s about this comment .. and I’ll be happy to give you my fax number to send me what you have .. then I’ll tell you what i think it means.

Chris

By the way .. it’s been too long .. call them and find out where your money is.

Im too happy Glory be to God

Happy? Happy about what?

(Everyone is named anonymous here, so it’s no longer safe for me to assume what someone may be happy and praising God about, or unhappy and damning the unemployment department to hell about.
