What to do if I miss my first unemployment hearing?

What to do if I miss my first unemployment hearing?

Actually, my son missed his first unemployment hearing in court. When he asked the person in charge she explained to him that he needs to wait for another hearing time by mail. Months pass and he didn’t receive any documentation for a new appeal. Does he need to continue waiting or does he needs to call any particular agency or a particular person? I would like for somebody to guide us. Thank you

Hi,

Well first, I think he should have called months ago to find out, but if you want me to help you .. I require the name of the state plus, I need some questions answered as well.

Whose appeal was it?

What caused your son to miss the hearing?

Did he receive a hearing decision from the hearing he missed?

When did he speak to that “person in charge”, before or after the hearing was held?

Chris
