California - Unemployment if not able to physically do the job?

by mike
(california)

I'm currently employed as a security guard and the company just lost the site I'm working at and they told me they wanted to put me on a site I'm not physically capable of doing due to the the amount of walking required. If they choose to let me go will I be eligible for unemployment?

Hi Mike,

Do you mean if they choose to let you go vs. finding a site you are capable of working at?

It depends on you and whether your reason for declining the new position is valid per California's unemployment laws.
