Can I collect Unemployment benefits if LTD ends and my employer has terminated me because I've been out due to illness

by Leann Muse
(Georgia)

I've been out on short term and long term disability it has been a year and my employer has terminated me. My LTD will run out in Nov. they had me sign up for disability but have not heard anything yet what can I do? I live in Georgia and am by myself and with no money and still out of work due to illness I need some kind of income.
Please tell me if I can get unemployment or what I need to do.

Hi Leann,

Unemployment benefits can only be a possible solution in Georgia if you are able and available for work .. Georgia does not have temporary disability unemployment as far as I know.
