Unemployed Stories

Fired for losing my temper.

by Jacob Frankart
(Bradenton, FL)

I lost my temper and hit a machine with my hand. I was told to punch out and go home. I was then called and informed of a three day suspension.

Upon returning to work on the appointed day I was fired immediately for same incident that I was suspended for.

Hey Jacob,

When someone is fired for losing their temper, it's usually called Inappropriate conduct.

What does the employee handbook say about this type of incident?

Did the employer follow their own rules about warnings?

Had you been warned before about this type of behavior?

Did you break the machine?

Were you also yelling?
