Fired For Misconduct Because I Closed The Office Early To Make A Deposit.

by Kim
(Illinois)

The employer stated that I was being released because of closing the office 30 minutes early. The reason that I closed the office is to make a bank deposit for the employer. The company has never disciplined me or brought it to my attention not to leave early to make bank deposits or any other company business.

Hi Kim,

Since you say the employer doesn't have a rule that you were made aware of which outlined the proper procedures for making bank deposits .. or even if they did and they were aware you did this, but condoned your practice of doing so up until this point I suggest you use the Illinois Unemployment Insurance Law Handbook to research your issue of Misconduct.

If you would like me to research the issue for you .. let me know.
