Going from disabilty to unemployment

I got layed off in April 09, and then found out I got lung cancer and went on disability. I'm getting ready to go off disabilty in March 2010, can I still get unemployment benefits from when I filed for them in April 09; before I found out I got cancer. Thanks so much for any help.


Hi Rick,

You should be able to reopen that April 09 claim because it hasn't expired yet, but I suggest you call the EDD to find out if this is the best way to handle it ..
