Unemployed Stories

I was denied unemployment but i feel that it wasnt right??

by Tella
(Morehead, Ky)

My previous employer wrote me up bc of funerals and my grandmother being in the hospital and i thought this was unfair. I told them on a wednesday that i would continue working there but i needed off that friday to take my sick grandmother to the doctor and they told me if i didnt come to work that day that i would be fired. So i didnt come back and they sent a letter to my insurance company stating that i was involutarily terminated. so then i went and file for unemployment but they then told the unemployment office that i quit because they were trying to discipline me.Should i try to appeal this?

Yes, you should.
