Normally, failing to get to work because you have transportation problems is grounds for termination with cause, and given the very limited information you did provide I cannot assess if being fired .. since you rode with your boss .. has any potential for a case of "not for misconduct".

I'm a little concerned by the term "got made". This term made my first thought, he was doing something wrong having you as a passenger .. so he stopped. You do realize that if you got fired the reason would be an attendance issue .. so I am more likely to want to know if there is an attendance policy and the details about your history of attendance.
