Unemployed Stories

If you are laid off for 8 weeks and then put back to work can you file for the lost time you had off?

by Mark
(Oklahoma)

I was laid off in november. They also at that time told me we would start back to work after the first of the year. It is now the 14th of january and I am going to work tomarrow. Can I file for the time I was off. I live in Oklahoma.

Mark

Mark,

You should have filed as soon as you weren't working, you would have probably received "job attached" unemployment, which would suspend the need to look for work. Now, that you are going back to work full-time .. you are no longer "unemployed" therefore, unless the state of OK will backdate your claim, you are out of luck.
