I've had to rent out my house for cost. Am I still eligible for unemployement

I can't afford my house anymore and will lose a lot of money if I go into foreclosure. Will I lose my unemployment benefits if I rent it out just for the costs of owning it?

Do I report income from renting our house? Not all profit

I have a similar situation, but will make profit from renting the house. I was laid off and my husband closed his business due to the economy. He is not eligible, but I have been receiving unemployment. We moved out of CA seeking work and a lower cost of living. We rented our home in CA to our daughter. Do I have to report the rent as income? If so, how much? It's not all profit - there are expenses. Also, my husband and I both own the property.

If I were you, I'd seriously consider calling the EDD and posing this as a hypothetical question.

Because I don't know the answer. I know my gut tells me it wouldn't make sense for the state to reduce your weekly benefit nor require you to report this income .. because it's not from wages.

But again, I advise you to verify my gut .. because that is exactly what I'd do myself for you .. if I had the time.
