can i collect my nm unemployement if i move to nc

by Christina

(Alamogordo,nm)

i have been collecting unemployement from nm but i am moving to nc so i was wanting to know if i would still be able to get my unemployement until i can find a job in nc

Hi Christina,

Yes, you should be able to. NM should have some FAQ’s which tell you how to change your address and how to register for work in NC.

I also suggest that you verify with the NM statutes that NM doesn’t have any locality provisions that might make this a problem .. some state do.

Also be aware if you are moving, during the move you probably won’t be able and available for work, so be truthful when filing your continued claim ..

Quite a change of scenery and climate:) Good Luck job hunting in NC.

Chris
