can i collect unemployment if the company changes ownership without notification

I walked in to work yesterday to realize my boss sold the restaurant to a new company. I’m not so sure it’s who I want to be working for.

Can I draw unemployment if I quit until I find a new job?

Hi Nickie,

Not very likely that you would be able to.

If this new employer isn’t making any drastic changes to the conditions of your new employment which would equate to “good cause” ..

And your only reason is “not so sure it’s who I want to be working for” is not anything I would not even begin to dig any further for a possible reason to quit, only to tell you that you first have to at least try to preserve your employment.

Try to find new employment in your spare time .. to spare yourself the trouble of having no money coming in whatsoever.

This is the sensible approach.
